During the early sessions for the band's seventh album in 2005, Radiohead decided to produce a caldendar for the coming year. Stanley built on the artwork of the Unsuitable Greeting Cards, by inverting the "creatures" from white to black and adding additional layers, including handwritten lyrics, nine of which contain references to six songs released during the In Rainbows and The King of Limbs periods (listed by order of appearance):
