On February 27th 2012, the song had its live debut at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. The lyrics are mostly intact already, but the backing vocals are still entirely different. The main portion of the song is also in F Minor instead of the album version's F# Minor:
(want to see you, and i need to, ohhh...)

sweet-faced ones with nothing left inside
that we all can love, that we all can love, that we all
sweet-faced ones with nothing left inside
that we all can love, that we all can love, that we all
but now I see you messing me around
I don't want to know, I don't want to know, I don't want
but now I see you messing me around
I don't want to know, I don't want to know, I don't want

broken hearts, make it rain

the pieces of a ragdoll mankind
that you can create, that you can create, that you can
the pieces of a ragdoll mankind
that you can create, that you can create, that you can
but now I see you messing me around
I don't want to know, I don't want to know, I don't want
but now I see you messing me around
I don't want to know, I don't want to know, I don't want to know

James: There's a song on the album called 'Identikit', which is one of my favourite songs on the album.

Colin: Oh nice! Oh thanks man!

James: It's such a bass driven song.

Colin: It's kind of a weird one, that song, because it's really satisfying to play because the chord sequence is quite sort of straight. We were working on a record called 'The King of Limbs', and we were working on loops and things and talking about loops and talking about like our love of Talking Heads. And there were these vocal loops that Thom had made and that's where that came from, sort of, basically, I think. He's just such an amazing- A: He's got an amazing voice, and B: he's got an amazing ability to make a beautiful melody. The songs all come out of these beautiful melodies that he can just, you know, conjure up. And that song, 'Identikit', I think came out of that experiment with loops of his voice and melodies.
The lyrics for the song can be seen in one of eleven pieces of artwork made from several layers of tracing paper, including some early drafts beneath the final one:
