Host: Your trousers!

Thom: Oh, I'm sorry.

Host: You could have washed them!

Thom: Well, I don't know how to wash them! If people can write in and tell me how to wash these particular trousers... I don't know whether I should dry clean them, or what? See now, look at that.

Host: So, your single's been chosen as the HELP single, 'Lucky'. How did that feel?

Thom: Considering all the bands that were on it and stuff, it was... we're pretty honoured.

Host: Yeah?

Thom: Um... other than that, it was... we didn't really want to get heavily involved because we wanted it to be mostly a collective thing, really.

Host: And so, this single is actually going to help the Warchild charity?

Jonny: We were sent a lot of information about Warchild and we talked to some people who were on it, and it looked like the slightly more ego-free version of some of the band and role charities, and we were into it. And we were really happy that 'Lucky' was chosen because we'd recorded our best song of that month that we'd written, you know. We weren't just gonna release... re-release or re-record something. It was gratifying.

Host: They sort of got you at the right time then?

Jonny: Yeah, exactly.

Host: You've been touring quite a lot recently. Where've you been?

Thom: America, mostly.

Ed: Japan.

Colin: Ed had his cricket bat confiscated at Chicago Airport!

Ed: Yeah! At Chicago Airport! We decided to take out a cricket bat...

Colin: No, you did! I don't play cricket.

Ed: Okay... and I got to the customs and everything, and they said, 'What are you doing with this paddle?' [everyone laughs] ... [in mock posh English accent] 'A paddle, sir?! How dare you sir, this is a cricket bat! Yes!'
