Live: The Library Cafe
Thursday, The Library Cafe
1. The venue was hot, and we don't mean in the what-a-cool-place-to-be way. Of course, you could always get a couple of ounces of cold water at the bar in the no-drinking zone -- at a quarter a pop.
2. An unexpected opening band came on about an hour after the headliner was expected to be onstage. This band -- THC -- dragged on for an hour, about 59 minutes longer than it should have.
3. Finally, 2 1/2 hours after the announced start time, Radiohead hit the stage.
4. The new English band made up for most of the sins of the evening with Creep, Anyone Can Play Guitar and other sweet noise from the album Pablo Honey. Thom E. Yorke's whisper-to-a-scream vocals on Pablo are even better in a sweaty bar.
