In december 2017, Thom and Nigel played a few more gigs in support of Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, which were also used to road test a number of new songs, including the never previously performed 'I am a Very Rude Person', '(Ladies & Gentlemen, Thank You for Coming)', which was then titled 'Two Feet Off the Ground', and 'Saturdays', which became the outro for 'Twist'. This is the live debut from december 12th 2017 in Los Angeles:
In politics more and more figures, Trumps, so to speak, are claiming the right to be angry. They're proud of that. You have the song I'm A Very Rude Person. In it you say: I have to destroy to create. I don't think that's meant to be ironic.

Thom: "No, it's not. That song came from that one sentence: I'm a very rude person."

Which you are not.

Thom: "Well, apparently I am. Someone literally said that to me once: "You know what, you're really a very rude person." I could brush it aside as a joke, but it's probably true. That lyric can be traced back to just a desire to destroy everything, and even that's just a reaction from me feeling unable to deal with something. That's all. I don't think Trump has any worthy or justified anger. It's all narcissism with him. If you're angry, be it in a coherent way. The 1960s riots were a textbook example of coherent anger. Back then, they were able to articulate it constructively, and they were able to justify it."
